Conference Report 2016 Seoul

On September 4th, 2016, the Asia-Pacific Early Mobilization Network held its 2nd annual conference on “Early Mobilization and Rehabilitation in the ICU” in Seoul, Korea. For the second year in a row, the conference sold out, underscoring the continued growing interest to learn about early mobilization in the ICU, in the Asia-Pacific region.

Experts from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Korea, and Singapore gave presentations on a wide range of ICU rehabilitation topics, such as building a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team and updates on recent research.

The final session of the conference was a panel discussion exploring various strategies on how to overcome barriers to early mobilization in the ICU and build multidisciplinary early rehabilitation teams. The Asia-Pacific Early Mobilization Network is excited to continue to promote early mobilization in the ICU with its 3rd Annual Conference in Singapore in April 2017.
